For Belmont
Sessions run at the children's pace. The full family group is photographed first, then smaller groupings and natural play, with Kaushik guiding the posing so that even a large group falls into place quickly and nobody feels like they are lining up for a school photograph.
When the gallery goes online the family can take as long as it likes to settle on favourites, and nobody chases a decision. The chosen pictures are retouched lightly, keeping everyone recognisable, and can be had as digital files or turned into an album, a canvas or a framed print for the hall.

Kaushik was great when he took photos of our wedding, and was equally great when doing a family studio session, involving entertaining 8 children (ages 0 up to 11).
Amazing experience with Kaushik photography. Pictures came out very high quality. The studio is also very nice and family friendly. The photographer there took his time to capture very memorable detail and that meant a lot to my family and I. I’ll definitely recommend Kaushik Bathia
Not the first time we have used his services. Excellent with kids and achieves a perfect smile from them. Fantastic experience. Very pleased.
What we offer
Large family groups photographed on the open grass of Kenton Recreation Ground.
Newborn and first birthday cake smash sessions in a warm Northwood studio.
Prints, canvases and albums made from the favourites you choose.
25+ years behind the lens
Small details matter too: a newborn's fingers, a toddler's shoes, a grandparent's hand holding a little one's. Sittings are arranged around feeds and naps, so little ones are at their brightest when the photographs are taken.
Sessions cover maternity, newborn, cake smash and milestone pictures, along with classic portraits of several generations together. Maternity portraits are calm and flattering, taken in the studio or outdoors to celebrate this time.

Good to know
The length of a family session varies with how many people are coming and how old the children are. Sessions are paced around the youngest, with breaks as needed, so nobody is rushed. The time set aside is confirmed when you book, with a little extra for outdoor sessions at Kenton Recreation Ground or Canons Park.
A cake smash is a fun, messy session usually held around a first birthday. Your child is given a cake to explore, and the pictures capture the curiosity, the laughter and the inevitable mess. The studio is the natural setting for it, since clean up there is easy.
Yes. Large groups are arranged in layers, with some seated and others standing behind, so every face is clear. The open space of Kenton Recreation Ground, near Belmont, suits a big gathering outdoors, and the studio can be arranged for larger numbers too; tell us how many are coming.
Ideally while you are still expecting. Newborns are usually photographed in their first couple of weeks, when they sleep deeply and curl up comfortably, so booking early lets a provisional date be held near your due date and adjusted once the baby arrives.
Favourite family images can be ordered as prints, framed pieces, canvases or albums, and every chosen file also comes ready for screens and for printing. Ask about sizes and finishes when you view your gallery if you are not sure what will suit your home.
Serving Belmont
Belmont families, between Stanmore, Kenton, Wealdstone and Queensbury, are about 4 miles from the Northwood studio. It sits close to Wealdstone and Harrow Weald, which we cover too. For a Belmont family, the choice between studio and a nearby outdoor location comes down to what works best for the children.
Belmont is a residential part of Harrow between Stanmore, Kenton, Wealdstone and Queensbury, named after a viewing mound the Duke of Chandos raised in the early 18th century. The area developed around Belmont Circle after the branch-line station opened in 1932, and the old line, closed in 1964, is now the Belmont Trail between Wealdstone and Stanmore. Families coming by Tube or train can use Stanmore on the Jubilee line, or Kenton on the Bakerloo line and London Overground, as Belmont no longer has a station of its own. Outdoor family sessions can be held at Kenton Recreation Ground, 21 hectares of Green Flag open space with a children's playground just south of Belmont.

Guides

Kenton Recreation Ground, just south of Belmont, is one of the most practical places nearby for a family session: 21 hectares of open space with a children's playground and a Green Flag award. Space matters with a large group, because a wide stretch of grass lets an extended family arrange itself in layers without anyone standing in the shade of a tree or in front of a bin. The playground is a useful bargaining tool with toddlers too. For a family who would prefer more character in the background, Canons Park has the walled King George V Memorial Garden, with planting and brick that frame a group neatly, and Stanmore Country Park offers woodland and meadow for a relaxed walk with the camera following. Late afternoon light in spring and autumn is softer than midday sun and less likely to make children squint. Choose clothes that sit together in colour without matching exactly, and bring snacks that do not stain. For newborns, the first weeks are best photographed in the Northwood studio, about 4 miles from Belmont, where the room is warm and the session moves at the baby's pace; the same applies to cake smash sessions and to winter, when outdoor light is short and cold hands make for unhappy faces.
At the studio
At about 4 miles from Belmont, the studio is on The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU. Family sessions are planned in advance, and the studio also handles printing, framing, photo restoration and scanning itself. Families are welcome from 10:30 to 18:00 Monday to Saturday, and from 13:00 on Sundays until 18:00.
Every family session is photographed by Kaushik Bathia, FBIPP and FMPA, whose five European Kodak Gold Awards were won while working from Northwood, where he opened in 2001.
