The session follows the children rather than a rigid list. Group pictures come first, then smaller combinations and natural moments as the children play, with Kaushik guiding poses so parents can relax and simply be in the photographs.
Later the family browses an online gallery together and picks favourites with no rush. Retouching keeps everyone looking like themselves, files are delivered for screens and for print, and wall prints, canvases and albums can be ordered from the selection.

Took brilliant pictures this year for me and my family! and even before hand 16 years ago took very professional pictures hence why we came back!
Amazing experience with Kaushik photography. Pictures came out very high quality. The studio is also very nice and family friendly. The photographer there took his time to capture very memorable detail and that meant a lot to my family and I. I’ll definitely recommend Kaushik Bathia
Great service and fantastic photos taken of myself and family. We were given a very warm welcome by Kaushik and I feel that was also reflected in the photos he took. So very pleased with the photos and would highly recommend Kaushik.
What we offer
Outdoor family sessions on Stanmore Common, at Bentley Priory or in the Bushey Rose Garden.
Sessions paced around the children, welcoming everyone from newborns to grandparents.
A warm Northwood studio for babies and bad weather, with parking close by.
Local and experienced
A few minutes are spent getting to know everyone before the camera comes out, so even shy children can relax. Children are met with patience and plenty of humour, so even a busy family session stays light-hearted rather than stressful.
Newborn sittings move slowly and gently, leaving plenty of time to feed, cuddle and settle your baby between pictures. Maternity portraits mark this stage with calm, flattering pictures, taken in the studio or outside.

Good to know
Yes. The Northwood studio is warm, calm and unhurried, and sessions run at the children's pace, with pauses for snacks, feeds and nappy changes. Parking is close by, which makes arriving from Bushey Heath with a pram and a changing bag straightforward.
A cake smash is a playful session usually held around a first birthday. Your little one is given a cake and encouraged to explore it, which tends to mean mess, laughter and some wonderful expressions. The studio is set up so the mess is part of the fun rather than a worry.
Crying is a normal part of photographing babies, so there is no need to worry. The session simply pauses for a feed, a cuddle or a change, and resumes when your baby is calm. Sessions run at the child's pace, so there is no pressure to get everything done at once.
Every family is photographed by Kaushik Bathia FBIPP FMPA, who founded the studio in 2001, has won five European Kodak Gold Awards and is rated 4.8 from 580+ Google reviews. For Bushey Heath families the Northwood studio is about 4 miles away, and outdoor sessions can be arranged on the green spaces around the village.
Yes, a family pet can be part of the session. Let us know in advance so the pictures with the animal can be planned first, while everyone is fresh. Outdoor settings such as Stanmore Common give a dog room to move, and the studio works well for calmer pets.
Serving Bushey Heath
Families on the Bushey Heath ridge, at the Hertsmere edge of Hertfordshire, can book a session at home or nearby. It sits close to Bushey and Carpenders Park, which we cover too. Families who prefer an indoor sitting can always come to the studio in Northwood instead.
Bushey Heath sits on the ridge where old Middlesex reached its highest point, 153 metres up, on former heath and common land at the Hertfordshire border. The village spread along the High Road and is still bordered by green space, so families have open settings close by for an outdoor session. Stanmore station on the Jubilee line, around two miles away, is the Tube route for families from Bushey Heath. For on-location sessions we can head to spots such as Merry Hill Local Nature Reserve.

A family from Bushey Heath has unusually varied ground nearby. Stanmore Common combines woodland with open heath and two ponds, so a session can move from the cool shade under trees to a lighter, more open spot without a long walk. Bentley Priory open space offers woodland, meadows and ponds too, and in summer its meadows are grazed by cattle, which small children tend to find fascinating from a respectful distance. The Bushey Rose Garden in neighbouring Bushey is a more formal choice, with a sunken garden, a rose walk and a pergola that frame a group neatly and give grandparents somewhere easy to stand. Wherever you go, start with the picture that has to include everybody, because the youngest member of the family sets the time limit. Wellies or sturdy shoes earn their place on woodland paths, and a change of clothes for anyone under five is never wasted near a pond. Coordinate colours loosely, with one lighter tone so faces stand out from green and brown backgrounds. When a newborn is involved, or the hilltop weather is bitter, the Northwood studio about 4 miles away is the gentler choice: warm, quiet and arranged around feeds and naps, with parking close by.
