Bushey Heath grew up on the former Bushey Common, awarded to Bushey landowners for farming during the Napoleonic Wars, and today it is governed by Hertsmere Borough Council. Bushey Heath is a hilltop village on the ridge above Bushey, historically the highest point of old Middlesex, and from our nearby Northwood studio we also cover Bushey and Stanmore. The highest point of the historic county of Middlesex, 153 metres above sea level, was here at Bushey Heath, at the junction of the A4140 and A409. Hertsmere Borough Council designated the Bushey Heath High Road conservation area in 1990. For a few quiet couple portraits, Mary Forsdyke Garden and Warren Lake, opposite St Peter's Church, would make a calm setting.
The session follows your lead: we listen to what you hope for and adjust as we go, so nothing looks staged. For a family session outdoors we would suggest Stanmore Common, a 49.2-hectare nature reserve of woodland and heathland with two ponds, or the meadows and woodland of Bentley Priory open space near Stanmore, with the studio always there if the weather turns.

Bushey Heath has no tube station, as the planned Northern line terminus was cancelled in 1950, so for a visit to our studio at The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU, the nearest main-line station to you is Bushey, on the Lioness line, and the nearest to us is Northwood Hills on the Metropolitan line. Portrait, family and headshot sittings are by appointment, and passport and ID photos, printing, framing, restoration and scanning are all handled in the building. The doors are open Monday to Saturday from 10:30 to 18:00 and on Sundays from 13:00 to 18:00.
