Serving Sarratt
Family sessions here run on the green, in the Chess Valley when the ground permits, and at Northwood when it does not. Kings Langley, Bovingdon and Flaunden are booked in precisely the same way. A typical group is two adults, small children, and grandparents who come along for part of the hour and would like one frame holding all three generations before they head off.
What we do differently in practice is fit the session to the shortest attention span present rather than to a shot list. The arranged frame is therefore taken first, while it is still achievable, and the loose wandering about comes afterwards.

What we offer
Family sessions on the Sarratt green, along the Chess Valley, or indoors at Northwood if it pours.
Short, unstructured and photographed at child height, so nobody in the group has to perform on cue.
A single gallery for the whole family, including the grandparents who could not make the day itself.
Why choose us
Sessions run to roughly an hour of real time, most of it walking and playing with the camera keeping up. The camera drops to child height, which means much of the hour gets spent on our knees, and nobody is ever told to smile on command.
The whole edited set goes into one gallery the family can share, so a grandparent who missed the day sees all of it, rather than three phone snaps of the back of somebody's head.

Good to know
Just let us know as soon as you can. With babies and toddlers, illness and off days happen, and we would always rather move a session than photograph an unhappy child. We will find a new date that works for your family. Sarratt and neighbouring Kings Langley, Bovingdon and Flaunden are all covered.
Soon, as we keep things moving swiftly. Following your Sarratt session, we hand-pick and edit the images with care before sharing a private gallery online. You are then free to browse and choose prints, canvases and albums whenever suits you, with no pressure.
Yes. Sarratt is on the regular round, and we come by road with the whole kit already in the car, so a change of plan on the morning costs nothing. Tell us how many are coming and how old the youngest is when you book. That sets the order things get photographed in, and the order counts for more than the choice between green and valley.
All of them. Families in Sarratt bring newborns, babies, toddlers, children, teenagers, parents and grandparents, and we happily photograph up to four generations in a single session. Capturing every age together is the part we enjoy most, and nobody is ever left out.
Yes, gladly. For families around Sarratt, milestone sessions capture the moments that matter most as baby grows, from sitting up to first steps and that first birthday. Photographing a few points across the year lets you treasure how much changes in twelve short months.
Serving Sarratt
Our studio is in Northwood, so Sarratt (WD3) is part of our core Hertfordshire area. It sits close to Maple Cross and Chorleywood, which we cover too. Sessions run at the studio or on location in Sarratt, and there is no travel charge for local bookings.
Sarratt is a pretty Chilterns village in the Three Rivers district, clustered along a long narrow historic green about four miles north of Rickmansworth. Sarratt is served by nearby Chorleywood and Rickmansworth stations on the Metropolitan line, and lies close to junction 18 of the M25. For relaxed outdoor photographs around Sarratt, we like The Chess Valley and Sarratt Bottom, and The Church of the Holy Cross is a well-known local backdrop.

The green is the workable answer for a family in Sarratt, and the reason is its shape rather than its looks. Being long and narrow, it puts the ground you photograph on right beside the ground you arrive on; nobody has to carry a pram, a changing bag and a reluctant toddler any distance before anything begins. That reads as a convenience point and it is really a picture quality one, because whatever patience a two year old turned up with gets spent on the approach if an approach exists, and the frames made in the opening few minutes are usually the keepers. The strip shape suits a group as well. Families never stand in a block, they string out, and a long green lets three generations spread along its length and still fall inside one frame, with the camera moved further back instead of the people squeezed closer together. Sarratt Bottom is the tempting alternative and it needs a footwear conversation first. That is chalk stream valley floor, which is level, and level is good; it also stays soft underfoot far longer after rain than the green does, which is not. With a pram, or with anyone unsure on their feet, treat it as a dry spell option rather than an any time one. When ground and sky rule out both, the Northwood room gives what neither can: warm, dry, windless, and a toddler who can be put down and picked up again without a coat negotiation.
