The green is the workable answer for a family in Sarratt, and the reason is its shape rather than its looks. Being long and narrow, it puts the ground you photograph on right beside the ground you arrive on; nobody has to carry a pram, a changing bag and a reluctant toddler any distance before anything begins. When ground and sky rule out both, the Northwood room gives what neither can: warm, dry, windless, and a toddler who can be put down and picked up again without a coat negotiation.
