There is no station in the village, and that alters the arithmetic of a headshot booking more than it first looks. Chorleywood and Rickmansworth are the nearest Metropolitan line stops, and the motorway is reached at junction 18, so any journey out of the village begins in a car whichever way it ends. Coming to our Northwood room is therefore not a different kind of journey, only a shorter version of one already being made, and it will sit at either end of a day without swallowing it. That matters, because the best photographic material in Sarratt is the wrong material for a headshot. Flint walls and a chalk stream valley are memorable, and a headshot is not meant to be memorable in that way. Put somebody against the church and half of what the frame carries is architecture.
