Serving Sarratt
Headshots for people living in Sarratt are made two ways: at the desk where the work actually gets done, or at our Northwood studio. Kings Langley, Bovingdon and Flaunden count as the same trip. Sarratt has no station of its own, so both routes start as a drive, which puts the decision on background rather than travel time. Northwood when the picture must sit beside a corporate set; your premises when it should show the trade.
What decides quality here is separation. A face has to sit clear of whatever is behind it, and separation comes from distance and the direction of light long before any question of lens arises.

What we offer
Business headshots at your Sarratt desk, or at our Northwood studio, whichever suits the working diary.
Close crop, looser frame and square profile version, all from one sitting and one arrangement of lights.
Repeatable enough that a colleague photographed next year joins the team page without looking pasted on.
Why choose us
One sitting covers a short run of variations: a close crop, a looser frame leaving room for a headline, and a square version for profile circles. That is a single visit answering the website, the profile and the press request that has not arrived yet.
Frames appear on a screen as they are made, so the choosing gets done in the room. Delivery is a retouched set at print resolution, with smaller copies for the web and mono conversions alongside.

Good to know
Yes, with a light and natural hand. We tidy stray hairs, soften shine and even out distractions while keeping you looking like yourself. The aim is a headshot that is polished and professional, never over-processed or unrecognisable. This applies across Sarratt and Kings Langley, Bovingdon and Flaunden.
Usually, provided it was made against something plain. A single sitting yields a close crop for a profile circle, a wide version leaving space for a strapline, and a square. What does not travel is a background with Sarratt visible in it. A church wall or a valley behind your shoulder pins the picture to one place and jars beside colleagues shot indoors. Settle that question first.
Of course they can. Students, graduates and anyone just setting out are all welcome, whether the headshot is for a first LinkedIn profile or an early acting portfolio. Plenty of younger Sarratt clients book with us, and the relaxed session leaves them looking confident and professional.
Yes. Actor and acting headshots are a speciality. We shoot honest, characterful frames sized and formatted for Spotlight, casting sites and your agent, focusing on natural expression rather than anything staged, so casting directors see the real you. Sarratt is easy to reach: Sarratt is served by nearby Chorleywood and Rickmansworth stations on the Metropolitan line, and lies close to junction 18 of the M25.
A good headshot shows a confident, natural expression, with clean lighting and a background that does not distract. It should look like you on a good day, read clearly at small sizes and suit wherever you plan to use it. Locally in Sarratt that takes in The Church of the Holy Cross, a flint and brick church founded around 1190.
Serving Sarratt
Our studio is in Northwood, so Sarratt (WD3) is part of our core Hertfordshire area. It sits close to Maple Cross and Chorleywood, which we cover too. Sessions run at the studio or on location in Sarratt, and there is no travel charge for local bookings.
Sarratt is a pretty Chilterns village in the Three Rivers district, clustered along a long narrow historic green about four miles north of Rickmansworth. Sarratt is served by nearby Chorleywood and Rickmansworth stations on the Metropolitan line, and lies close to junction 18 of the M25. The Church of the Holy Cross, a flint and brick church founded around 1190 is a well-known local landmark in the area.

There is no station in the village, and that alters the arithmetic of a headshot booking more than it first looks. Chorleywood and Rickmansworth are the nearest Metropolitan line stops, and the motorway is reached at junction 18, so any journey out of the village begins in a car whichever way it ends. Coming to our Northwood room is therefore not a different kind of journey, only a shorter version of one already being made, and it will sit at either end of a day without swallowing it. That matters, because the best photographic material in Sarratt is the wrong material for a headshot. Flint walls and a chalk stream valley are memorable, and a headshot is not meant to be memorable in that way. Put somebody against the church and half of what the frame carries is architecture. Put the same person against a controlled grey and every scrap of the picture is expression, jaw, eyeline and crop. The strongest local backgrounds are the ones to leave out on purpose. The second consideration is matching. A headshot seldom appears by itself; it goes next to other people's, made elsewhere, months or years apart. Matching wants a repeatable arrangement of lights rather than a lucky afternoon, and that argues for a room where February and July look identical. The village will still be there when a portrait is wanted. A headshot has a narrower job to do, and doing it well means giving up the scenery.
