Commercial photography in a village is a logistics question before it is a lighting one, and in Sarratt the logistics are unusually kind. Junction 18 of the M25 is close, so a vehicle loaded with stands, heads and modifiers reaches an address without difficulty, and that in turn means premises do not need generous windows or a large room to photograph well, since the light is not being looked for on site. What is needed is somewhere to stand a light and a socket that works. The frame that genuinely sells a business here usually has to show where it is. A tight crop of hands at work could have been made on an industrial estate anywhere in the country. That argues for wider frames, and wider frames in small rooms are a lighting problem, because the back wall is in shot.
