It lasts as long as the youngest is enjoying it, usually around three quarters of an hour. You then get an edited gallery sized for prints, for phones and for sending to relatives who were not there on the day.

Where there is a new baby, we photograph the older children first, while they are still keen, and bring the baby in once everyone has had a turn. For a first birthday at home we let the party and the fun happen, and photograph the delight as it unfolds.
After a three-generation session, a second set of prints for the grandparents can be ordered alongside your own canvases, frames or album. Dogs are welcome in family sessions and often improve them, since children behave differently, and usually better, when the family dog is in the room.

Every age is welcome. We photograph newborns, babies, toddlers, children, teenagers, parents and grandparents, right up to four generations together in one session. Family photography spanning every age is exactly what we love most, and no one is ever left out.
Yes, and with a newborn we would not use the Common at all. That session belongs indoors at home in Merton, warm, with feeds setting the pace instead of a clock. Older siblings get their frames early, while they are still willing, and the baby is photographed once the room has settled. Nobody travels, and the session finishes when the baby says so.

For a family in Merton the thing to plan around is the scale of Wimbledon Common rather than its scenery. On big open ground the instinct is to walk to the best spot, and with a pram, a toddler and a grandparent in the party that walk becomes the session.
