For the City of London
The youngest person present decides the running order. Anything needing everyone to look one way happens in the first fifteen minutes, while it is still possible, and the loose frames come afterwards, where a failure costs nothing.
Edited files follow at two sizes, screen and print, with the full group frames delivered first. For a baby, or a bad forecast, the Northwood room in HA6 is the better booking. You choose the frames yourself from a proof set, and nothing is deleted before you have seen it.

What we offer
Short sittings at Postman's Park, built around benches, mature trees and the attention span of a small child.
Newborn and older sibling sessions at the Northwood studio, where there is warmth, floor space and no traffic.
Weekend mornings suit a family sitting in the City far better than any weekday hour we could offer.
Local and experienced
Large family gatherings are photographed early in the day where possible, before the meal, before the drinks and while the youngest are still reasonably fresh. Getting down to a toddler's height rather than shooting from above is why a good deal of any family session is spent kneeling on the floor.
Retouching on family work is minimal. Dribble and a grazed knee can go if you want them gone, but children are otherwise left looking their age. Outdoor sessions take place in local parks and green spaces, with the whole family free to relax and play.

Good to know
Yes, though rarely in the City of London itself. A newborn wants warmth, floor space and no wind, which the Northwood studio has and a City garden does not. Order matters more here than place: the older child is photographed first, while they still find it interesting, then the baby, then the two of them together in whatever minutes are left. Booked loosely, never to a timetable.
Yes. Postman's Park is the one spot in the City of London we would suggest for it, and the benches are the reason. Late in a pregnancy the useful thing is somewhere to sit between frames rather than a long walk back to a car. The mature trees keep hard sun off the top of the head. Standing frames are kept to a couple of minutes each.
That is perfectly ordinary and never an issue for us. Tears, squirming and sudden sleepiness are all familiar, so we just stop, help settle your little one and pick up where we left off. Patience means an unsettled moment rarely affects the final photographs. For outdoor photographs in the City of London we would suggest Postman's Park, a quiet green space near St Paul's with mature trees and benches.
Yes, but not on a City pavement. Postman's Park handles a small group comfortably, though beyond roughly eight people you want ground you can arrange rows on, and for that a Northwood booking is more reliable. Give us the number and the ages when booking, since a group with three toddlers in it runs on its own clock.
We certainly do. A milestone session marks each meaningful step as your little one develops, whether that is sitting unaided, first wobbly steps or a first birthday. Booking several through the year means you can look back fondly on every stage as it passed. Outdoors in the City of London we would head for Postman's Park, a quiet green space near St Paul's with mature trees and benches.
Serving the City of London
the City of London is the historic financial heart of the capital, in London. It sits close to Camden and Islington, which we cover too. From our Northwood base we reach the City of London easily, whether you prefer a studio sitting or family photography on location.
The City of London is the capital's historic financial district, known as the Square Mile and governed by the City of London Corporation. Served by Bank and Liverpool Street stations, with the Central, Northern, Circle and Elizabeth lines all running through it. When a session suits an outdoor setting, Postman's Park is a favourite near the City of London, close to St Paul's Cathedral.
More in the City of London
The same studio, experience and personal care apply to every service we offer in the City of London. Explore the rest: We also cover family photography across London, including Hackney, Redbridge, Westminster, Islington, Brent and Camden.
Family work in the Square Mile is uncommon, and it is more useful to say why than to write around it. This is a district of offices. It offers pavements, a cathedral and one quiet garden, and none of that adds up to somewhere a four year old can be let go. What it does offer is containment, which is not nothing. Postman's Park has benches and mature trees and a boundary, so a small child can be set down without a hand on their collar for the whole session. Benches change the arrangement more than people expect. Grandparents sit, children are brought to them, and the oldest and youngest end up in one picture without anybody standing about waiting for it. Seated groups also solve the height problem that ruins most mixed age photographs, where an adult's face and a toddler's face are two feet apart and only one of them can be sharp. Timing is the honest constraint. A financial district belongs to the working week, and streets that are shoulder to shoulder at half past eight are a different place on a Saturday morning, which is the version of this place a family session can actually use. Small children give roughly twenty good minutes, so whatever needs everyone looking one way happens inside those, and everything loose comes after. Anything involving a baby, or a forecast, is better booked into the Northwood room, where warmth and floor space are not weather dependent.
