Serving Wandsworth

Every Asian tradition, photographed in Wandsworth

The interval is the part nobody books. Two hours or more separate a daytime ceremony from an evening reception, and they fill up with changing, eating and furniture being moved. That same window is usually the last good light of the day, and neither of you is required in front of anybody during it. Give it a purpose in writing, or it disappears into a corridor and a plate of food.

Wandsworth suits a multi-building wedding better than most boroughs: the open green, the riverfront and the halls all sit inside one borough, and the green is the only entry on your schedule without a ceiling over it. What you pay for that spread is transitions. Every move means unloading, learning an unfamiliar room, hunting for a socket, and losing fifteen minutes nobody wrote down. Three moves and roughly an hour has gone before anybody notices.

Every tradition

One studio, every Asian tradition

Ceremonial authority moves around during an Asian week, and the venue coordinator never holds it. A priest may set the photographer's ground on one day; a committee does it on the next; a family elder settles it quietly on the third and tells nobody. We establish who holds it ahead of each event, since asking halfway through is not open to us. Guess wrong once and you have lost the room.

Continuity is the casualty of a wedding held over several days in buildings chosen for different reasons. Faces learned on the first night are strangers again by the third, in other clothes and another room. So the joins get photographed on purpose: the car, the wait, the corridor, the first sight of a room somebody spent a week decorating. Without them a finished set looks like three separate evenings rather than one week of the same wedding, and nobody wants an album reading that way.

Why choose us

Why a Second Photographer Changes Your Whole Day

Simultaneity is the only thing a second camera buys. It is what lets one lens stay on your faces while another is on your mother's. Booking it is your call, not a default we slip into the total: in one room across one day it changes little, and across a two-building morning it changes everything.

Good to know

Asian weddings in Wandsworth, FAQs

Documentary during ritual, directed during the portrait hour, and the two never confused. Around seated families we work from the room's edge, long and quiet. Nothing is restaged later to replace something that was missed.

Yes. Drums, a street and a crowd with its own momentum: the procession is walked from ahead of it, and the arrival belongs to a camera already in place at the doors. Send us the route and where it finishes.

Yes, and the Wandsworth reception is the part we light ourselves. Tell us whether there is a stage, what colour the venue sets its uplighters to, and how high and how pale the ceiling is. Those three answers decide the kit we load.

Yes, this is familiar territory for us. We regularly work alongside the dhol drummers, DJs, caterers and decorators who bring an Asian celebration to life, staying out of their way while they stay out of ours. Good teamwork on the day keeps things moving and means we never miss what matters. This applies across Wandsworth and Putney, Balham and Tooting.

Yes. An hour on the common among woodland and lakes works, or a late session by the water. It also settles the question of how you photograph together, which shortens the portrait slot on the day.
