Children set the speed of the session. The shot with everybody in it is taken at the start, before anyone flags, and after that things loosen up: siblings together, each parent with each child, a grandparent with the baby, with Kaushik directing the arrangement so the adults can stop managing and simply join in.
Once the session is over, the pictures go into an online gallery where the family can pick favourites without being pressed. Gentle, natural retouching comes as standard, files suit both phones and printing, and the family's chosen pictures can be ordered as prints, frames, canvases or albums.

Kaushik was great when he took photos of our wedding, and was equally great when doing a family studio session, involving entertaining 8 children (ages 0 up to 11).
Very pleased with the quality of photographs. Kaushik is very patient and accommodating with requests, and full of enthusiasm and energy. His friendly demeanour immediately put us at ease, resulting in some wonderful family pictures. Would recommend him to family and friends.
Kaushik is an amazing guy, and took lovely family photos when requested. I would definitely recommend him!
What we offer
Outdoor family sessions in Woodcock Park or on the meadows of Fryent Country Park.
All ages welcome, with parents and grandparents in the pictures too.
Newborn and milestone sessions in a warm, quiet studio at Northwood.
25+ years behind the lens
We take the time to get to know your family a little before we start, so everyone feels at ease. It is worth asking for a picture of the grandparents alone with the grandchildren, since that is often the one that ends up framed at home.
One photographer runs the session, so the same person who met your children directs them, edits their pictures and hands the finished images over. A newborn session can be followed by a first-birthday session, and the two sets are edited to sit together as one continuous story.

Good to know
We offer fine prints, framed wall art, canvases and beautifully hand-finished albums, each designed around your favourite photographs. Following the session you view a carefully edited gallery online, then choose the pieces that fit your walls, your home and your family.
Of course you can. We love including a well-behaved family pet, and many Kenton sessions feature the household dog. A quick heads-up in advance helps us plan the shots properly and keep everybody, on two legs or four, happy and settled throughout.
Every age is welcome. Newborns, toddlers, school-age children, teenagers, parents and grandparents are all photographed, and four generations can share one session. Nobody is too young or too old to be included, and photographing a mix of ages is the heart of a family session.
Of course. Family photography is about everyone together, so parents are very much part of the session. We photograph the whole family, then smaller groups and each child alone, so you come away with cuddles, connection and every combination captured.
We certainly do. A milestone session marks each meaningful step as your little one develops, whether that is sitting unaided, first wobbly steps or a first birthday. Booking several through the year means you can look back fondly on every stage as it passed.
Serving Kenton
Kenton families are a short trip from the Northwood family studio. It sits close to Wealdstone and Harrow, which we cover too. Studio or outdoors, Kenton families have both options, with Kaushik covering location sessions across Greater London.
Kenton is a diverse residential suburb on both sides of Kenton Road, which divides the boroughs of Harrow and Brent. Families can reach Kenton station on the Bakerloo line and the London Overground Lioness line, or change at Northwick Park for the Metropolitan line towards Northwood. For on-location sessions we can head to spots such as Woodcock Park.
More in Kenton
The studio offering family sessions in Kenton also covers portraits, headshots, pet photography and commercial shoots. Explore the rest: we also cover family photography across Greater London, including Sudbury, Queen's Park, Eastcote, Heathrow, Edgware and Golders Green.
Woodcock Park, Kenton's main green space beside the Wealdstone Brook, is an obvious outdoor choice for a family session close to home. It is the area's main green space, and the restoration work along the Wealdstone Brook means there is water, planting and a softer, more natural edge to the park than a plain playing field. Children are drawn to water, so the brook is best treated as a backdrop for a calm moment rather than a place to explore in good clothes. For more space and a sense of countryside, Fryent Country Park in neighbouring Kingsbury covers 103 hectares, rising to Barn Hill, and its open meadows suit a large family group who want room to spread out and a broad sky behind them. On open ground a group should face away from the brightest part of the sky so nobody squints, and grandparents may welcome a folding seat, as long grass can be uneven. Agree colours loosely beforehand, with soft neutrals and one accent, and pack snacks and a spare top for the youngest. For a newborn, a baby's milestone session or a winter booking, the Northwood studio, about 4 miles from Kenton, offers warmth, privacy and a session that moves at the child's pace, with parking close by for the car seat and the pushchair.

At the studio
Kenton families have a trip of around 4 miles to the studio at The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU. You book family, portrait and headshot sessions ahead, but anyone needing a passport or ID photo can come straight in, and printing, framing, restoration and scanning stay under one roof. Monday to Saturday the studio is open between 10:30 and 18:00, and on Sundays between 13:00 and 18:00.
Families are photographed by Kaushik Bathia himself, an FBIPP and FMPA with five European Kodak Gold Awards, in the Northwood studio he has run since 2001.
Popular sessions
Families in Kenton often book around a milestone: a maternity photoshoot before the birth, a cake smash photoshoot near Kenton at one, christening photography on the day, a birthday photoshoot later on, and a Christmas photoshoot for the cards each December.
