For relaxed couple photographs, we like Bishop's Park, a riverside park beside the Thames with tree-lined walks, and Fulham Palace, the former residence of the Bishops of London gives the day a strong sense of Hammersmith and Fulham.

The muhurat and muhurtham, the auspicious hours, set the pace of the ceremony, and we plan around them. The kanyadaan and the joining of hands at the mandap are photographed with quiet care. We are ready for the giving of the sindoor and the tying of the mangalsutra at a Hindu ceremony.

We photograph the bridal and groom's preparations with a gentle, unobtrusive eye. The reception is the joyful finale, with speeches, the first dance and the bhangra. For Muslim families the walima is a warm celebration in its own right, and we cover it in full.
