For South Ruislip
We agree the running order first, so nobody stands about: the whole group, then grandparents with the children, then each child alone, then the pairs. Forty minutes covers all of it, which is roughly the limit for a four year old.
If the ground is wet or it is blowing hard we move the booking indoors rather than push on. Everybody in the group gets the same gallery, sized for framing and for sending on, so nobody has to ask for copies afterwards.

What we offer
Family sessions on level ground near the woodland edge, with Northwood indoors when the weather says otherwise.
Short by intent: the arranged picture first, the loose ones after, finished before patience runs out.
Grandparents, toddlers and a pushchair all accounted for when we choose where to stand.
Why choose us
We capture the way your family really is together, not a stiff, formal version of it. Teenagers are given the same courtesy as adults, told what is happening and asked rather than instructed, which usually turns the sulkiest one into an ally.
The studio is kept warm for newborn work, warmer than most adults find comfortable, because a cold baby will not settle and a settled baby is the entire session. We keep the turnaround fast, so you can order prints, canvases and albums while the memories are still fresh.

Good to know
That is perfectly ordinary and never an issue for us. Tears, squirming and sudden sleepiness are all familiar, so we just stop, help settle your little one and pick up where we left off. Patience means an unsettled moment rarely affects the final photographs. South Ruislip and neighbouring Northolt, Ruislip Gardens and West Ruislip are all covered.
Yes. It is one warm room with a level floor, so a baby can be put down, a toddler can move around, and nothing needs carrying across wet ground to get there. From South Ruislip the drive does not leave Hillingdon. Families here tend to book the room from November onwards and work outdoors across the warmer half of the year.
You can indeed. A popular option follows baby right through their first twelve months, starting with newborn photographs and moving through sitting up, first steps and a cake smash at one. Looking back on how quickly your little one changed is a real joy. For South Ruislip bookings, getting here is simple: served by South Ruislip station on the Central line and by Chiltern Railways to Marylebone.
We do, and the number decides the location, so give it to us at the enquiry. A group past about eight wants firm level ground and enough width behind it to hold a row, which in South Ruislip means the made up tracks at the woodland edge rather than anywhere among the trees. Indoors, a group that size needs your own front room or a hall.
There is no need. Toddlers from South Ruislip keep us on our toes, and we love that, so we never demand stillness or forced smiles. We play, we follow their lead, and the natural moments we capture are often the pictures parents adore most.

For a family the deciding fact about Ruislip Woods is underfoot rather than overhead. Ancient woodland means leaf litter, surface roots and ground that stays soft wherever the canopy keeps sun off it, which is fine for a six year old in boots and awkward for a pushchair, a walking stick, or anybody who would rather not watch their feet the entire way. The made up tracks at the edges take wheels without argument and the interior does not, and no frame is worth a grandparent negotiating roots to reach it, so a session here is planned around where the car stops. The other constraint is patience. A small child hands over one stretch of real cooperation and it comes at the beginning, so the arranged frame is made early, while everybody will still stand in one place, and after that the grandparents with the children, then each child alone, then the pairs. The running about frames go last because they need no cooperation whatsoever, and they are usually what ends up on a wall. From November the woodland floor rarely dries out and the light is gone before most people finish work, so the booking moves indoors to Northwood: warm, level, no coats to wrestle off, no wet grass to cross, and a clean floor a baby can be put down on. Outdoors reads better for eight months of the year, and for the other four it is a fight nobody enjoys.
