We start with a quarter of an hour of nothing much, letting the dog get bored of us, since an animal still interested in the stranger will not look anywhere else. Then the camera goes down to its height, on the ground, which is the only way a dog fills a frame properly.
Nervous and elderly dogs get a shorter session on ground they already walk, and we stop when the dog has finished rather than when the list has. The edited set arrives in a private gallery with your chosen frames retouched.

Kaushik had plenty of props to keep my son entertained, laughing, and happily posing.Afterward, he was incredibly patient as we went through every single photo to pick our favorites, even though we kept changing our minds. We had a large family photoshoot to do which can always be tricky. Kaushik was absolutely fantastic with a myriad of toys and noises to get smiles out of the little ones (they are still talking about the mouse on a stick!). Kaushik took the various different combinations we wanted and positioned each one expertly.

Ground is the whole argument for a dog session up here, and it cuts both ways. Harrow Weald Common runs into the green belt and the Bentley Priory Nature Reserve adjoins it, which gives more unfenced space than a managed park ever does, and none of it is surfaced. The fix is position, not exposure: stand the dog where the canopy stops so open sky lights the face from the front and the trees stay behind as the darker half of the frame. A white or cream dog is the reverse: it looks best in the shade under the trees, where a dark coat would disappear.
