Dogs are photographed outdoors, usually at the Aquadrome. A cat or a rabbit is photographed in its own house instead, where there is no journey and nothing unfamiliar to be frightened of. West Hyde, Batchworth and Rickmansworth work the same way. Two dogs in one session is common enough and causes no trouble, provided one will wait while the other is photographed.
The thing to bring is whatever your dog genuinely wants, which is often not the treats from the cupboard but one particular toy, kept in a pocket until the moment we need the ears up.

We let the dog set the speed. The first stretch is spent doing very little, so that the camera stops being an event before it starts being used. Nobody asks him to do anything at all until he has stopped noticing us and the lead can come off.
Sessions stay short on purpose, because a dog that has run out of interest cannot be talked back into it. You get the same edited gallery as any other sitting, including frames prepared at a size that holds up printed large.

Because the plan is built around the lakes and the road. We use ground at the Aquadrome that sits well back from the A412, so a dog with reasonable recall can come off the lead, and a long line handles one that treats its own name as optional. Timing is set around your dog too. We go when he is normally walked, not first thing after a night shut indoors.
Yes. A black cat or a dark dog is a lovely challenge, and we set the lighting so every detail of the coat and eyes shows. White and pale coats get the same attention, so the fur keeps its detail instead of turning into a blank patch.
Please do. A toy your pet already loves, or a pocketful of its usual treats, settles it and gives us a way to get its attention. We carry a few squeakers of our own as well, plus some ridiculous noises for the moment we need the ears up.
An edited online gallery of your dog, cat or rabbit, looking just like itself. Prints, framed pictures and canvases can all be ordered from the gallery, with framing done at the studio. The gallery follows soon after the session, so the wait is short.
Not at all; most dogs are like that. We let an energetic dog play and take the pictures in the pauses between games. On the circular walk at King George V Recreation Ground on Shepherds Lane, a dog on the move can be caught mid-stride. A dog in motion often makes the better picture.
