Cap and gown portraits for graduates from Kingston, Greenwich and beyond, photographed alone or with the family who helped you get there. On the day, or later at a South London landmark of your choice.
The short answer
Yes. Kaushik Bathia photographs graduation portraits in South London, about 12 to 20 miles from Northwood, either on the day or at a later date in a setting you choose, such as Cutty Sark Gardens in Greenwich, Kingston Bridge or the view from Richmond Hill. Sessions cover formal and relaxed frames, solo and with family. Travel from Northwood to the ceremony or the setting you pick is set out in a written quote, and the session is priced on request.
Kaushik was a great help and took some great photos for my partner and I. I would highly recommend for all your photography needs.
Highly recommend!!! I came from Qatar and found this famous Photographer Kaushik Bathia who took my photographs! Absolutely incredible. He touched up on blemishes and really made the photo look so beautiful!
I had an amazing experience with Kaushik Bathia. They were professional, friendly, and made me feel completely comfortable during the shoot. The photos came out beautifully — natural, vibrant, and exactly what I hoped for. Highly recommend
Kingston
Kingston University and Kingston College are both in Kingston upon Thames, about 14 miles from Northwood, and the town around them makes a good setting for a graduate portrait. Kingston Bridge, Edward Lapidge's five-arch Portland stone bridge of 1828, gives a formal river backdrop, and the Old Town around All Saints Church keeps the best-preserved medieval street pattern in outer London.
For something lighter, the Out of Order sculpture of twelve tipped red telephone boxes makes a playful frame once the formal portraits are done, and Canbury Gardens along the river has open lawns for family groups. Any photography rules on campus or at the ceremony venue are set by the university, so check those before the day. The Kingston portrait page covers more settings in the town.

Greenwich
The University of Greenwich mainly uses the Queen Anne, Queen Mary and King William courts of the Old Royal Naval College, built to Christopher Wren's design between 1696 and 1712, and moved there in 1999. Its Stockwell Street building, opened in 2014, was shortlisted for the Stirling Prize. On Greenwich Peninsula, Ravensbourne University London, a media and design university, was built in 2010.
Maritime Greenwich has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, and the public spaces around it offer strong backdrops away from the ceremony crowds: Cutty Sark Gardens and Greenwich Pier on the Thames Path, St Alfege Church by Hawksmoor, and the listed market buildings of 1827 to 1833 below Croom's Hill. Photography rules inside the college grounds are set by the site, so ask before you plan frames there. Greenwich is about 19 miles from Northwood, and travel is quoted up front and set out in writing.
Timing
Gown hire is usually returned on the day of the ceremony, which squeezes the photographs into a few busy hours shared with every other graduate and their families. A portrait session on the day works best if you book a time slot after the ceremony and pick a spot a short walk from the crowds, so the family groups are relaxed rather than rushed.
If your gown is your own, or you can keep the hired one longer, a separate date a week or two later is calmer. It is also the answer when grandparents travel in from further away and cannot make the ceremony itself. A later session can run anywhere in South London, or at the Northwood studio if you want controlled light and no weather to worry about. The national graduation photos page explains the session.

Settings
A graduate does not have to be photographed where they studied. The view from Richmond Hill, protected by an Act of Parliament since 1902, gives a calm, wide backdrop for a formal gown portrait. In Southwark, the walk from Southwark Cathedral along Clink Street past the rose window of Winchester Palace has stone and brick that suit dark academic gowns.
In Brixton, Windrush Square holds the African and Caribbean War Memorial beside the Black Cultural Archives, a meaningful setting for a family marking a first graduate. Wimbledon's South Park Gardens, a Grade II listed Victorian garden off the Broadway, is a quieter choice for families in Merton. Portraits in the Royal Parks may need a permit, so pick a council space or check first. More settings are on the South London portrait page.
Leavers
Not every milestone has a gown. Students leaving school or sixth form across South London may want a portrait before they scatter to university, apprenticeships or work: alone, with best friends, or with the family. These sessions follow the same pattern as a graduation, with formal frames first and relaxed ones after, and can be planned for the weeks after exams or around a leavers' event.
A portrait at home in the garden, or in a local park such as Brockwell Park, Clapham Common or Beverley Park in New Malden, keeps it simple for a nervous teenager. Parents who want a framed picture for the grandparents can add a family group at the end. The portrait page covers the wider range of individual sessions.

Planning
The Clattern Bridge of about 1175 and the Market Place sit inside the Old Town Conservation Area, a short walk from Kingston Bridge for a second set of frames.
Parents, grandparents and siblings can all join after the solo portraits. Tell us who is coming so the groups are planned in order and nobody waits around.
Cutty Sark Gardens and Greenwich Pier are busy public spaces. An early or late slot, away from the ceremony rush, gives cleaner frames by the river.
Canbury Gardens and the Riverside North Conservation Area, with the 1893 Albany Boathouse, give open space for a relaxed family group after formal portraits on Kingston Bridge.
A framed graduation portrait makes a present for the people who helped you get there. Prints, frames and albums can be ordered from the gallery after the session.

Yes. Bring the cap, gown and hood, and they are arranged properly before each frame. If your gown was hired and returned on the day, a later session can still work with a smart outfit instead, or with a gown hired for longer.
Yes. The graduate is photographed alone first, then with parents, grandparents and siblings, in formal and then relaxed frames. For older relatives, choose a setting with seating or short walks, such as Canbury Gardens in Kingston or South Park Gardens in Wimbledon.
Yes. A leavers' portrait follows the same pattern as a graduation, solo and with friends or family, and can be at home, in a local park or at a landmark. A price for a leavers' session comes back by phone or WhatsApp on 07956 505383.
Lifestyle photography in the Royal Parks, including Richmond and Greenwich Parks, needs a permit from the park office covering up to ten people for one hour. Richmond Hill outside the park, or St Alfege Church in Greenwich, are public alternatives.
Prices are given on request by phone or WhatsApp and depend on the length of the session and the location. Travel from Northwood to your chosen South London setting appears separately in your written quote.
