For every chapter
Whether it's a polished professional headshot, a playful family session or a milestone you want to remember, a great portrait is about feeling comfortable in front of the camera. That's where I come in.
Sessions take place in the natural-light London studio, or on location somewhere meaningful to you. We'll keep it relaxed, have a little fun, and come away with images you'll genuinely love.

Portrait photography in London
A portrait session with Kaushik Bathia Photography is a relaxed, guided sitting that turns a real person into a photograph they are proud to use and to hang on the wall. Working from an award-winning natural-light studio on The Broadway in Northwood, and on location across London and Hertfordshire, I create professional headshots, personal-branding portraits, actor and model sittings, graduation portraits, and warm family and newborn images. With 25 years behind the camera, more than 1,200 shoots delivered and a 4.8 rating from 539 Google reviews, the aim is simple: images that look like you on a good day, not stiff or forced.
Portraits suit far more people than most expect. Professionals and business owners book personal-branding sessions for LinkedIn, websites and press; actors and models need a natural, castable headshot; students want a graduation portrait that marks the milestone properly; and families come in for maternity, newborn and multi-generation group shoots. Whatever the reason, the process is the same friendly one, and I coach you through posing and expression so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands.
Being Northwood based, I photograph clients right across the north west of the capital and the Chilterns. Popular sittings come from a portrait photographer in Harrow search as often as a local Northwood portrait photographer booking, and I regularly travel to clients who want a portrait photographer in Pinner, a Ruislip portrait photographer, or a portrait photographer in Watford. Sessions further afield in Uxbridge, Rickmansworth, Eastcote and Ickenham are welcome too. For business portraits and acting profiles, the dedicated headshots hub goes deeper, and if you are booking for the whole family, the family photography page covers group and children's sessions in detail.

Good to know

Choose the Northwood studio for polished, consistent results in any weather, or an on-location session for a natural lifestyle feel in a place that matters to you. If you are unsure, the studio versus outdoor portraits guide below breaks down the trade-offs.
A single headshot sitting usually takes 20 to 30 minutes, while personal-branding, family and themed sessions run longer to allow for outfit changes and different setups. I confirm the timing when you book so you can plan your day.
Yes. Alongside the Northwood studio I travel across north west London, Hertfordshire and the Chilterns, including Harrow, Pinner, Ruislip, Watford, Uxbridge and Rickmansworth. Travel within the local area is included, and further journeys are quoted up front.
Solid, mid-tone colours photograph best and busy patterns can distract from your face. Bring a couple of options so we can vary the look. The what to wear for your headshot guide below has practical tips for professional and personal-brand portraits.
